    I don't know actually.

    Hello there!

Recently I've been hearing a lot of comments from people regarding writing and all, and I realised only yesterday that I haven't written here since the holidays ended. That's pretty long, I'd say. People have been writing a lot, and I have been writing nothing at all.

Year 3 is a scary year. It's the spillover point between really growing up and still enjoying the life of a teenager. In fact, the whole concept of Polytechnic is. You're somewhere near growing up by living the grown-up lifestyle, but you're still a teenager who shirks responsibility at the nearest exit you can take. But in year 3, the nearest exit isn't so near anymore.

Just 2 weeks into school, we've been asked to make big decisions in our lives. Internship. You know how important internship is? It determines your life for the next 20-30 years (maybe) if you don't plan on going to university and you don't have the obligations to serve your nation. What you do with that 6 months, may end up becoming your job for life. Even not so, the industry at least.

I'm not a media student. I'm not a media person. I've always shun at the fact of being one, and I've been avoiding this fact for a good 2 years. No really. I've studied media for 2 years and I'm still not convinced that I want to be in the media industry for the rest of my life. I want to dance, I want to promote the arts, and culture. I want to do all that.

    But I'm stuck with media.

Don't get me wrong, media is a wonderful industry. It creates entertainment value, provides information and helps you to connect with one another. Heck, social media connects you with people in the USA. I love mass comm - the people, the teachers (they are really nice, trust me) and the things I'm learning. It's useful stuff, useful no matter where you go in life.

Knowing how to respond to a media interview helps a lot, and knowing advertising tactics help you to be less susceptible to them. (actually, not really. I still buy a lot of stuff.)

But even with all that, I'm not convinced that I will ever be a media practitioner. Call me weird, but I'm part of the minority in this country that prefers the arts over entertainment any day. I prefer watching plays in a theatre over movies in a cinema (unless it's Avengers omg). I love the arts, and I want to dedicate my life promoting it to everyone.

People need to see how amazing the arts is - theatre, dance, music. Everything comes together sometimes, and lives their own stories as well. Of course, saying this, my opinion is skewed to dancing. I don't deny it, I am a dancer. But I love theatre, I love watching plays and musicals and all that. I love hearing songs, but not just your top of the charts.

Here I am, making the biggest decision in my life thus far. It's no secret, I chose Events Management. Why? Because that's the nearest I'll ever get anywhere. Maybe I'll work in an events company that works closely with events related to the arts. Then, I'll get to manage it!

A little far-fetched, but one can dream. Can't they?

Ok I've done enough writing and it's pretty off topic. I don't even know what the topic is. I'm so sorry. Bye.

This girl is amazing. It's talent in the world like this, that we need to invest in.
